Massimo Mencía 2017; Generally in the Ribeira the soils are of origin with slate base although all the vines are not in the same area, you could say generalizing, that for the most part they are in trellises, on the basis of slate and high acidity. In the ribeira del Sil are of granitic origin.
The Denomination of Origin Ribeira Sacra, is a wine production area with an area of 2500 hectares of vineyards, which is a 5.2 of the land dedicated to the vine in Galicia. It comprises the parishes and places of 20 municipalities located along the banks of the River Minho and the Sil River, in the south of the province of Lugo and north of Ourense.
