Guímaro Finca Capeliños Mencía 2021

Guímaro Finca Capeliños, is a blend with the Mencía variety, as the main (85%), completed with Caíño, Sousón, Grenache and Brancellao. The grapes come from Finca Capeliños, with vineyards of almost 100 years old, grown on terraces and on slopes with a strong inclination that reaches up to 50%, with granite and slate soils.

Description

Guímaro Finca Capeliños Mencía 2021; is a red wine produced by Bodega Guímaro under the Ribeira Sacra Denomination of Origin. It is a small family winery, with little production, but which produces wines of excellent quality.

Fermentation takes place with native yeasts from the vineyard itself for 50 days in wooden cone. After fermentation, a light manual pressing is applied, before aging, which takes place for 12-14 months in 225 litre French oak barrels.

Guímaro Finca Capeliños is a wonderful Mencía. A “brother” wine from El Pecado, the wine that the well-known winemaker Raúl Pérez produces using the facilities and grapes of Bodega Guímaro. In total, 6-8 barrels are produced and are distributed between the two wines.

Cbright cherry smell.
Very complex, with red and mineral fruit such as graphite.
Very suggestive, with nuances reminiscent of wild blackberries and rose petals on a mineral background.
